The world's toughest security chains just got better. At Almax we are always looking to improve our chains. After previously winning 'best buy' from RiDE magazine, scoring 15/15, and 'best on test' from Motorcycle News (MCN), being the only chain to survive a sledge wedge attack, we have added a superior plating process. This prevents hydrogen enbrittlement from zinc plating, while offering ten times better corrosion protection and giving the chains with a unique black gloss finish. As an added bonus this process creates a very hard and smooth coating, giving superior flowing properties - making it easier to pack and pass through or around objects.

Our Chains have changed the market in recent years and some of our competitors are now also adopting larger 16mm chains. However, our competitors continue to sell croppable chains -and they will always be playing a game of catch up. Some of our competitors are even claiming slightly superior grinder resistance times; not realising that you get nothing for nothing in this world. For every action there is consequence. The trade-off required to make a slightly harder chain with better angle-grinder resistance is less ductility. Or police sources, as well as Motorcycle News and RiDE Magazine, confirm that sledge, wedge and impact attacks from professional bike thieves are the second most common form of attack- after bolt-cropping. We are happy to pay the extra cost of tempering our chains to gain extra protection (ductility) against these more common forms of attack. Our chains are made of British steel and we do not supply other retailers or wholesalers. We sell direct to the end user.
